The Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity

Great Ormond Street Hospital is a world-class children’s hospital, with the broadest range of paediatric specialists under one roof anywhere in the UK. We welcome around 150,000 patient visits each year, treating patients with the most complex, life-threatening or life-limiting conditions. The hospital are totally committed to find treatments and cures for some of the rarest and most difficult illnesses.

The hospital rank with the small handful of truly word-class children’s hospitals but delivering this standard of treatment, care and research is not cheap.

Many of their patients and their families are treated in conditions which are crowded, uncomfortable, lacking in privacy and falling short of what our families and staff deserve. For example cardiac intensive care offers each patient only one-third of the space our staff say they need. To deliver the best modern care we need to redevelop the hospital.

There are various ways to help the charity. There are many fundraising trips including; the Inka Trail in Peru, The Great Wall of China and London to Brighton bike rides. There are also other (less strenuous!) ways to help such as donations of money, clothes, presents for the children or become a GOSH friend.
